Maren Streifling – artist from Cologne

As a woman, mother, wife and artist, I have learned that creativity goes far beyond canvas and paint.

It is reflected in how we shape our lives, how we cultivate relationships, and how we repeatedly find the courage to take new paths.

It's not just about the finished product. It's about the journey. About the courage to begin. About the patience to let things grow. And about the trust that not everything has to be perfect right away.

My own artistic work has led to the development of creative retreats, which have now become an important part of my creative output. I want to create spaces where people can take time for themselves, distance themselves from everyday life, and rediscover their creativity.

In my retreats, I combine art with culinary arts, yoga, nature, and community. They are places of encounter where people arrive, try new things, engage in conversation with one another, and take away new inspiration.

My own artistic practice remains the foundation of my work. My abstract pieces emerge intuitively, layer by layer, inspired by Mediterranean light, nature, and the places I encounter on my travels. Reduced forms, earthy tones, textures, and large formats characterize my visual language.

My studio is therefore more than just a workplace. It is a place for encounters, exchange, and the joy of craftsmanship. A place where people come together to create something with their own hands.

Because in the end, it's not just about painting a picture.

It's about creating a life that feels honest, vibrant, and coherent.
